New Blended E-Learning & Workshop Delivery of Mental Health First Aid Program.

This course teaches practical skills to provide the initial support to someone who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

Mental illnesses are common and young people are at highest risk. Research shows that more than a quarter of young people (aged 16-24) experience one or more of the common mental illnesses in any given year.

Many young people do not seek professional help for mental health problems, but they do tend to speak about it with their friends, so it’s important to have the skills and confidence to help.

Through evidence-based course content, scenarios and films, participants learn to recognise the signs and symptoms of mental health problems and crises, how to provide initial help, and how to guide a person towards appropriate treatments and other supports.

This course involves self-paced eLearning followed by a 4-hour face-to-face workshop.  Workshops will be scheduled at our training rooms in Maitland.
